Los Angeles 1984 swimming men 200m freestyle

Michael Gross, known as the “Albatros”, was one of the great athletes of the Los Angeles Games. In the 200 m freestlye final, Gross swam world record time and won one of his four medals: two gold and two silver.

Synchronised swimmers make a splash at London 2012 Aquatics CentreCompetitors have praised the atmosphere at the London 2012 Aquatics Centre following the FINA Olympic Games Synchronised Swimming Qualification event that took place at the newly built Olympic venue from 18-22 April. The competition saw over 160 athletes from 34 nations competing for the final places in the synchronised swimming competition at this year’s Olympic Games.
